The songwriting process is special. My pen carries a unique flavour and I’ve been honing my craft as a lyricist for over 10 years. While you’ve been in the studio recording, sweating in the rehearsal space, memorising lyrics and booking gigs… I’ve been writing, writing, writing.
I write to inspire realness.
I’ve been recording music, writing and working with melodies since 2010. I’ve recorded studio albums, played live gigs, had my music on radio, hosted radio shows and networked inside the caves and coves of Australian music while being based in Adelaide.
My songwriting abilities stem from the foundations of jazz, funk and blues. They were the underlying samples behind many favourite hip-hop classics. Birthed as a hip-hop artist but crafted by a wild facet of musical genres I now collaborate with artists and producers of all genres to make meaningful music.
Great lyrics and melodies transcend all genres. Lyrics are the black and white stamps that echo into the world and the melodies are the unique rhythms that underpin the washy and at times harsh waves of a club hit or beautiful song.
I am a lyricist by nature. I don’t write songs to become popular or liked by people. I write because it makes sense to me. The way it feels. The way it makes others feel.
As a songwriter I emit out a realness that artists and audiences relate to. A relatable realness. A full-thrills-no-gimmick attitude towards making the funkiest jams.
I wanted to be a recording artist who toured the world. I ended up becoming a novelist and fantasy writer but the soulful rhythm of music never burns out.
